What to do if Hamachi Not Working in Windows 10?

Hamachi is a popular service, but sometimes it gives errors and issues that couldn’t be solved easily. Speaking of problems, in this post, we’re going to cover the following errors:

Method 1. Restart your Windows PC

Step 2. Go to Control Panel (in Category view), open Network Connections.

Step 3. Then, delete the Network Bridge.

Step 4. Locate Local Area Connection and right click it and select Properties.

Step 5. Ensure that all items are ticked except Microsoft Network Adapter Multiplexor Protocol.

Step 6. Restart your Windows PC and reinstall the latest version of Hamachi.

Method 3. Make sure that the Hamachi services are running

Hamachi needs certain services to be running in order to work properly. However, these services can become disabled on your PC, but you can turn on them with ease. Ensure that you have installed the latest version of Hamachi before trying the following steps:

Step 1. Press Windows Key + R and put services.msc in the Run dialog box. Press Enter or click OK.

Step 2. In the Services window, find and double-click the LogMeIn Hamachi Tunneling Engine service in order to open its Properties.

Step 3. Set the Startup type as Automatic. If the service isn’t running, click the Start button to start it. Click Apply > OK to save changes.

If the service is already running, stop it, wait for a few seconds and start it again.

Step 4. Restart your Windows PC, then the problem should be resolved completely.

Method 4. Uninstall conflicting software

A lot of users reported that they were unable to start Hamachi on their PC due to their VPN client. Hamachi is a network application, so it’s not uncommon for other network tools, such as VPN, to have problems with it.

Some users reported that removing their VPN fixed the issue, hence you might want to try that. According to users, the issue was caused by Softether VPN client, but after uninstalling it, the issue was completely resolved. If you want to delete all files associated with your VPN, we suggest you use a dedicated uninstaller such as IObit Uninstaller or Your Uninstaller to uninstall the problematic application.

After uninstalling your VPN client, the issue should be resolved and Hamachi will start working again. But, if you need to install a new VPN, you might want to try Radmin VPN.

Step 4. After that, click on Browse button and select your Hamachi installation directory. Once you select the desired directory, click on Next to continue.

Windows 10 now will try to install the driver. Once the driver is installed, check to see if the problem still persists.

Method 6. Add Hamachi as legacy hardware

Hamachi comes with its own drivers, and if you’re facing any issues with it, you might be able to solve the issue by installing Hamachi as a legacy hardware. Before you can add Hamachi as legacy hardware, you need to uninstall its driver by doing the following:

Step 1. Open Device Manager.

Step 2. When Device Manager window opens, find your Hamachi Network Adapter, right-click it and click Uninstall device from the menu.

Step 3. When the confirmation dialog occurs, simply click on Uninstall.

Once the driver is uninstalled, you can install Hamachi as legacy hardware by doing the following:

Step 1. Click the Action menu > select Add legacy hardware.

Step 2. When the Add Hardware wizard pops up, click on Next.

Step 3. Choose Install the hardware that I manually select from a list (Advanced) then click on Next.

Step 4. Choose Show All Devices then click Next.

Step 5. Click on Have Disk.

Step 6. Click on the Browse button, go to Hamachi installation directory and choose the Hamachi driver.

Step 7. Finally, follow the instructions on the screen to install Hamachi driver.

Once Hamachi driver is installed, the errors with Hamachi should be fixed.
