Step 2. Open up File Explorer by searching for this entry in the Start menu or opening a folder and clicking My Computer or This PC from the left navigation pane.

Step 4. Find the Fallout4Prefs file and open it with Notepad.
Step 5. Change bGamepadEnable=1 to bGamepadEnable=0.

Method 5. Check for Programs Conflicts
Your keyboard and mouse problems may be caused by interference from other applications. To check if that’s the problem for you, you need to check the programs on your PC for conflict problems.
Here are types of programs that you should especially pay attention:
- Applications running in the background while gaming, like Game DVR.
- Overlay programs, including Steam Overlay, GeForce Experience etc.
- Antivirus firewalls or software.
Try turning these applications off temporarily to see if the keyboard and mouse not working problem persists during Fallout 4 gameplay.
