Step 1. First, go to the F4SE website click here.
Step 2. Then, you can select to either use the installer, which will place all the files where they need to go automatically. If you’re not someone who trusts running executable files, you can download the 7z archive.
Step 3. If you’ve selected the installer, just go through the setup and select your Fallout 4 directory. It’s usually C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\Fallout 4
If you’ve selected the 7z archive, you’ll get a ZIP File. Highlight all of the files inside and drag them into your Fallout 4 Folder. You want f4se_loader.exe to be in the same folder as Fallout4.exe
Notes: This is usually at C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\Fallout 4
Step 4. Done. You’ll just need to remember to update the Fallout 4 Script Extender whenever Bethesda updates Fallout 4. In order to use F4SE, you run f4se_loader.exe to run the game. Mods that require F4SE won’t run unless you run the game by using f4se_loader.exe.
