How To Fix Application Has Been Blocked From Accessing Graphics Hardware in Windows 10

Method 1. Set TdrDelay value

The reason this problem is occurring can be due to a few reasons, but the most likely one is that your settings are set to a slightly higher value than they should be since the application has not been fully optimized, yet. Hence, the graphics card is overwhelmed by things to load, and your application blocked from accessing graphics hardware. In order to fix this error, I would recommend you increase Timeout Detection and Recovery (TDR) delay, which in turn increases GPU processing time. To do so, follow these steps below:
Step 1. Press Windows Key + R then put regedit in Run dialog box. Click OK to open Registry Editor.
Step 2. In the left pane of Registry Editor, go to following registry location:
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Control\GraphicsDrivers
Step 3. In the right pane of GraphicsDrivers key, you have to create a registry DWORD named TdrDelay. To do so, right-click and select New > DWORD. Then double-click on it to change its Value data.
Step 4. Change the Value data of DWORD to 8. Click OK to save changes.
You can now close the Registry Editor and reboot your system.

Method 2. Update display drivers

You can apply this method for Intel HD Graphics card running machines:
Step 1. Go to this source to download updated Intel display drivers (of same architecture).
Step 2. Using WinRar or WinZip to unzip the downloaded compressed (.zip) files then copy the extracted folder to <your system root drive>\Windows\Temp.
Step 3. Press Windows Key + R then put devmgmt.msc in Run dialog box. Click OK to open Device Manager.
Step 4. Find and expand Display Adapter and then right click your display driver, click Update Driver Software… option.
Step 5. Next click Browse my computer for driver software option.
Step 6. Moving on, choose Let me pick for a list of device drivers on my computer. Click Next to continue.
Step 7. Here, you click on Have disk button.
Step 8. In Install from Disk window, click Browse and go to <your system root drive>\Windows\Temp folder and find the unzipped folder you get in Step 2. Now you open Graphics sub-folder and choose igdlh32.inf (for 32-bit edition) or igdlh64.inf (for 64-bit edition) file and click Open. Click Yes to start installing driver.
Wait until the install process is completed, you can close Device Manager and restart the machine. After restarting, the error is gone.

Method 3. Reinstall your display driver

If you don’t computer skills to update the display driver manually, I highly recommend you do it automatically with the Driver Talent tool. Driver Talent will help you download and install the latest one from your display adapter manufacturer’s website, such as AMD, NVIDIA, Intel…
