How To Download & Install Notepad++ in Windows 10

Let me explain first what is Notepad++?

Notepad++ is a free source code editor and Notepad replacement that supports several languages. Running in the MS Windows environment, its use is governed by GNU General Public License.

Based on the powerful editing component Scintilla, Notepad++ is written in C++ and uses pure Win32 API and STL which ensures a higher execution speed and smaller program size. By optimizing as many routines as possible without losing user friendliness, Notepad++ is trying to reduce the world carbon dioxide emissions. When using less CPU power, the PC can throttle down and reduce power consumption, resulting in a greener environment.

Step 1. First, visit this site to download the Notepad++ for Windows 10/8/7.

Step 2. Choose the version of Notepad++ you need from the page.

Step 3. Once the file is downloaded, go to the folder that contains the “npp.release-version-Installer-x64.exe” file and double-click on the file to run the install process.

Step 4. When the install window opens up, choose the language from the drop-down and click the OK.

Step 5. As you will click the OK button, Notepad++ setup dialogue box will pop up as follows:

Step 6. Click the Next button to move forward. As you will click the Next button, the license agreement will appear. Read the terms and conditions for Notepad++ and click I Agree the button.

Step 7. As soon as you will accept the license agreement, choose install location option will appear.

Step 8. Already selected destination folder will occur in the text box. If you want to change the location click the Browse button and choose the location of your desired. Click the Next button. As highlighted in the above image. The next screen will be to choose the components, there is no to select and deselect anything here. Click the Next button as below to continue.
