Fixing “A device attached to the system is not functioning” error with Any iPhone (All Versions)
Step 1. Reconnect your iOS (iPhone or iPad) device to your computer. Try a different USB port. Try a different USB cable.
Step 2. Restart your Windows PC and your iOS device. You can turn off your iOS device by navigating to Settings > General > Shut Down. Then you can restart.
Step 3. On your iOS device, navigate to Settings > Photos and scroll down, locate the “Transfer to Mac or PC” section. And change from “Automatic” to “Keep Originals“.
Step 4. On your Windows PC, switch between USB 2.0 and USB 3.0 ports.
Now connect again your iOS device to the Windows 10 PC and copy/paste the files again. It should work this time.
